Equity Bank says robbery attempt at Soroti branch foiled
The management of Equity Bank has said that normal business has resumed after a robbery attempt on one of their branches in Soroti by armed men was successfully foiled by security agencies.
A group of armed men on Tuesday morning stormed the bank creating a scene of tension.

In a statement, Equity Bank said the robbery attempt was successfully foiled by security agencies including police and the UPDF after the armed robbers attempted to gain access to the banking hall.
“No property or lives were damaged or lost during the incident. Security agents led by local authorities are currently investigating the incident. Normal banking services have resumed,” Equity said in a brief statement.
Security is yet to issue a statement about the incident.
